History is Our Story

March 3, 2018

While we are on the subject, this might be the time to say that history is probably a minority subject, at least for those who see it as a matter of remembering dates and events. However, if you change "his-story" to "my story" or "our story" it becomes personal to us. Everyone, every people or group wants to know their story, where they started, how they grew, what were their successes and failures. These pages attempt to tell the story of Scalan, but it is a story which must find its place within the wider Scottish Catholic story. It is not separate or isolated from that. It finds its place in a longer story and these pages will move away from Scalan in time to show the wider picture.
